I have spent the last few days cleaning up and burning branches and old rotten wood and old posts. Built a section of fence and a new farm gate to keep the Deer out.

  1. You're getting a lot done! I dearly love the smell and ambiance of a fire......debris or not - it is still wonderful!

  2. The use of the Golf netting was a great idea!

  3. What a job! I am amazed that you are still allowed to burn the debris, I remember doing that as a child but not anymore, now everything has to be chipped and spread...or hauled away. You are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful place...good luck keeping away the deer and happy gardening.

  4. Hi Rob...glad you found my new blog. I know I was lost out there for a bit. You sure work hard over there. I love your grounds and your gardens are looking pretty too. Thanks for sharing with the newbie party.

  5. Oh that is maybe so strenuous! But i am sad with the volume of biodegradable materials you burned, adding a lot of bad smoke to the already bad environment we have now. It is analogous to burning gasoline. Why can we not just let the biodegradable materials rot naturally in compost pits? It is definitely more healthy for our struggling generation and our earth's atmosphere! thank you.

  6. Spring time projects :) looks like you are getting a lot done. Thanks for sharing

  7. Your primula and the flicker are beautiful! You are working very hard. Sorry about the storm. It is hard to lose trees.

  8. looks like much work :) the little bird is sweet!

  9. Glad you could get work done. Love being outside. Blessings, Debbie

  10. Looks like you've been a very busy burning bee ...

... I have one-off relative who loves to burn things in his backyard in the deepest hours of the night. You see, the burbs of Chicago frown on backyard burnings!

Can't wait to see that deer proof garden grow!

  11. I do haul away a lot of garden debris when cleaning. We live in the city and though others burn, we don't. Unfortunately, we are under quite the drought situation even now. Otherwise -I'd love to burn and have the ashes for the compost! Good for you in getting all this done! I appreciate you sharing with A Return to Loveliness,

Thanks for your kind comment.
