Baby it's Cold Outside...

I lived in the Cariboo and am used to snow and cold weather, but  the Rhodo's are a different story...

Hoping the Rhodo's will be okay, we lose some most years. I think it will be a good year for gardening in 2014...

Gathering a few pieces for my Christmas porch display, my wife says less is more. The fence is frozen in time. I like a fire in the burn barrel. Thinking of making some benches from these old logs for around the place, maybe do a little carving...

Wendy has the tree done and has put out some of our favorite pieces, with the new kitten Taz we left some out...

  1. It is cold here in Texas!!! As in the high being freezing! We have been iced in since Thursday night! The temps are supposed to climb slightly ABOVE freezing this afternoon so we hope to get out then and go over to see the grandquads! Wendy is probably right - but my motto is 'MORE is always BETTER!'

  2. Hi Rob,

With a new kitten, you're wise to save some of the breakables for next year. Pretty place you have at Christmastime.

Please consider returning and leaving a comment for me.
    Happy Blue Monday!

  3. Hi Rob, that is quite a bit of early snow. Just waiting to see how your great junk finds are going to look like as Christmas decorations. Great collection. Love the idea of benches made from your logs. Looking forward to seeing how you make them. Have a great week. Snowed here last night, still snowing, B is clearing the sidewalks, porch and driveway, happy me happy B.

  4. Oh Rob, I would freeze to death. It's only 59 here in So CA. and I am so cold. Hopefully it will warm up soon. Looks like you stay busy. Very pretty tree.

Your pictures have that feel of winters cold and Christmas's warmth.

  8. Hi Rob ...
Your porch will be so interesting. Love the gate and idea of benches out of the wood.
The Medalta crock: I have one exactly like it only the wood on one handle is missing. Maureen Wyatt at It's all Connected has had a post on this pottery. I believe her father or grandfather worked there. You might be interested in checking out her blog if you have not already. I tried to find a link, but did not see it.
