Contrian Folks...

I had the good fortune to meet 60 plus like-minded folk from around the Comox Valley while I was home. My wife was the one who set the wheels in motion for my partaking in the meeting. It was held in a private home and was very informative and positive. The subject was the the abuse and fear mongering by the BC provincial government and BC Hydro trying to force Smart Meters on those who object and don't want anything to do with them. The Bullying and Coercion is criminal and against the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. My Dad taught me to stand up for what I believe in and for that I am forever grateful.

On a lighter note it has been great to get in the garden and to get a little dirt on my hands.

Getting ready to go back to work and the good fortune to shoot a Monarch
While running about a friend showed me her pride and joy, The Settee Table, it is priceless, a shot of Mount Washington and a very nice 50's Cornbinder.
The character feels like life sometimes, an antique cast iron door stop and cabinet, a gate arbor and some fencing and planting going on.
I hope everyone is taking some time to do some relaxing and reflection have a happy day!
Rob

  4. I had to look up BC Hydro and Smart Meter. I thought it might be water metering. The US govt. put meters on our irrigation well pumps. So far our electricity is un-monitored except for monthly reading.

Your Monarch looks a lot like our Tiger Swallowtail. Butterflies are coming out, slowly, here.

  5. My father always said "If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything." A country song was made with those words and I love the song because it will always remind me of my late dad. I am sickened by what all governments all over the world are doing. Some people are so clueless. It is absolutely unbelievable what we all put up with. Our gas/electric co. is forever haggling with us wanting us to take the Switch and Save! They can fly a kite! But I refuse to do it their way! why should I suffer with 100 degree temps and no a/c when these fat cats in D C don't participate in any of these absurd laws they throw at us!
On a pleasant note I truly love that butterfly. Oh I am a butterfly gal! Lovely photos that you shared. Thanks for the great blues.

  6. hi Rob ... I think I am way behind in viewing your blog. Your pictures are so enjoyable. Love that settee table ... first one I have ever seen.
You are such a hard working man and so busy, don't know how you have time for all your gardens, but the hard work is paying off. Everything is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
