Twenty plus years ago my parents bought their final retirement home. Dad added lots of shelving when they first moved in and in the last few years he had the living room, hallway and bedroom and all the inside doors painted and my sister installed tiles in the entry/hall area. Today I started the next redo in the den/2nd bedroom.
The start - remove, slice, roll and dispose of the old carpet. |
This is a project that has been in the pipeline for a while now. When in Vancouver working I stay with my Dad. This is my space when I am in town, it is not big but it works for me. In my younger days I would Gypsy around working here and there while living in my homemade camper, similar size (that's another story).
I taped off and cleaned the wooden wall surfaces.
Great bargain - $5 for the gallon of 'oops' paint (list was $50, love bargains).
Went for a walk after lunch while the paint dried.
First coat of light moca |
Second coat of the moca. I put down a couple of
Vintage Hickory laminate boards to see how the colours worked together., 3 coats of paint.

Installing the laminate boards is tomorrow's project (plus putting the room back together).

I LOVE painted wood. I'm so glad you were not afraid to paint it in this room. It lightened it up so much. The wood floor is going to look great. I saw your post over at Boogieboard Cottage blog party.
