Pulleys, Bullies and a Strong Back...

Went to a yard sale at a neighbors on Sunday, turns out that he is an Organic gardener and is a retired equipment operator in the logging industry. It is nice to meet new friends with common interests. They have the cutest puppy a small breed (unknown) what a lot of energy! I was telling Eric that old rusty stuff is what I look for he pulled this box out of his shed...

This morning heard a knock on the door around 9 am it was a fellow from BC Hydro wanting to install the new Smart Meters I have a sign up saying no Smart Meters Keep Out!!

He was civil as was I we had a conversation and he went on his way. No doubt BC Hydro will be back soon with some bullying tactics... A Strong Back that is what this post is about....
Pulleys other bits and pieces brass split key ( my Dad calls it )
Love the box.
~~~
While working on my upper deck I noticed that the post by the steps was rotting away this is what I did...
Cobalt old time preservative, lifting the post with old screw jack, made a strong back two pieces of 3/4 plywood screwed to 2by6 then screwed to post, rotten end and repair made.
    The flowers keep me going.
Have a Happy Day!
  4. My first visit to your site... very nice and beautiful blooms. I have a good sized collection of wooden pulleys that I don't use other than to have them hanging in the gazebo... need to put some thought into that... Larry
  7. Hello Rob--What lovely flowers you have in bloom now, and I love all the rusty implements. I grew up on Orcas Island--part of the San Juan Islands in Washington State, so nice to meet another islander! (Although I am a landlubber now!)
  14. Thank you for sharing at The "Sunday Stop". As always your photos are great!!!
    Ok, I have a Question ... Is the jack there to stay or it was help in way of holding it until there is a permanent solution? If the jack is there to stay ... will it? I don't think it would move ....
    Thanks again for sharing ... you are always a welcome addition!
