Home Make Chalk paint project number 3 - Waterfall Dresser
I started with the drawers.
The paint I made Thursday had thickened a bit so
I added a water with a couple of drops of Basic H (Shaklee) and stirred well.
Oh so dark |
At this point the dresser needs some contrast. |
Blue with a bit of white (home made chalk paint).
Taped off, went with a nice blue. |
Done |
Project 1 is the green wall shelf (seen below), 2 is the desk here and 3 is this dresser.
The little pale green table is a previous project.
Now what about the wainscoting? Got a gallon of pale blue?? |
Mr. Pickwick says get a little color in your life. Vintage 30's beaten copper pub tray. |

This my 3rd chalk paint project. For the dresser (which I picked up for $10.00) I went and bought some oops paint at General Paint, a very good deal at $5 a gallon and $1.50 a quart. Needless to say I see a lot of painting in my future. Mixed the blue latex paint with plaster of paris and slightly warm water to make home made chalk paint (ratio: 1 plaster of paris, 1 water to 3 and a bit latex paint, mix very well until smooth).Sharing with: No Minimalist Here

you don't do what my sister did (by accident). She was rearranging my
blog look and DELETED the Linky Followers (thought it was a title).
Groan (she REALLY GROANED and cried a bit too) and couldn't get them back.
SO If you were a Linky follower could you link up again.

Hi Rob!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to try out the "new" chalk board paint but I am pretty sure that if I do it will be some that I have made.
I know that good old gesso and even cheap flat white house paint has good "tooth" and can give nice results.
Like the colors you choose, you are right ... it sure brightened that piece up!
Thanks for sharing this at my Bunny Hop Party!
